Croatia have become the latest country to announce their 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, players like Southampton defender Duje Caleta-Car have been dropped from the roster after being named in the provisional squad in October.

Croatia will look to excel in the tournament later this month after finishing second at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The pressure will be on Dalic’s shoulders ahead of the tournament and he hopes his selected squad will get the job done.

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been included in Dalic’s 26-man squad. He will be joined by Josko Gvardiol – who was widely linked with a £78m move to Chelsea this summer.

The defensive line will also include Domagoj Vida, Borna Barisic, Josip Juranovic, Borna Sosa, Josip Stanisic, Martin Erlic and Josip Sutalo.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric will manage the Croatian midfielder in Qatar. He will be joined by notable names such as Marcelo Brozovic and Kovacic.

Modric – who has won 154 caps for his country – hopes Croatia can do better than the 2018 tournament in Russia as he retires from international football after this year’s edition.

Perisic has been selected for the tournament in Qatar and will be joined by Andrej Kramaric and Ante Budimir up front.

Marko Livaja has also earned a place in the Croatia squad after excelling domestically with Hajduk Split.

Caleta-Car and Marin Pongracic were dropped from the Croatian defensive line, while Luka Ivanusec and Josip Misic failed to secure a place in midfield.

Moreover, Josip Brekalo and Antonio Mirko Colak have been left out of Croatia’s forward line for the 2022 World Cup.
