Belgium World Cup squad: News and analysis ahead of Qatar 2022 team announcement

Having reached the semi-finals of the World Cup twice in their history, Belgium hope to make a further leap by qualifying for the final in Qatar.

Roberto Martinez has a team with plenty of strength down deep and with a favorable draw they look like strong contenders to eventually lift the trophy.

‘The Golden Generation’ are hoping to live up to the name they have been given as this could be the last chance to lift the silverware for Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, who are at the end of their careers.

But with a team that boasts of Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Youri Tielemans and Yannick Carrasco will believe they have every chance of winning this winter’s tournament.

Belgium is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest FIFA World Rankings.
